Singapore Mahjong FAQ

Answers to common questions about Fei, tai thresholds, Zi Mo, the wall, special hands, and the online game.

What is Fei in Singapore Mahjong?

Fei is an optional non-discardable wild tile used by the winning-hand engine. The table can be configured with 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, or 20 Fei tiles.

How much tai is needed to win?

A Zi Mo must reach the configured Tai Threshold. A discard win must reach one tai more than that threshold. Automatic special hands bypass the ordinary threshold.

What is Zi Mo?

Zi Mo means self-draw: the player draws the tile that completes the winning hand. Zi Mo normally adds one tai and is paid by all three opponents when chips are enabled.

What happens when the wall reaches 15 tiles?

If nobody wins before the whole wall reaches 15 tiles, the round ends without a winner. Flower, animal, and Kong replacements are taken from the back of the same wall.

Are special hands added on top of ordinary tai?

A detected special hand replaces ordinary Wind, Dragon, Flush, and similar pattern entries in the result breakdown. Valid tai from Animals and seat-matched Flowers or Seasons remains visible. Special payout rows can still be limited by Caps Max Tai for Special.
